Age appropriate Bible Study Classes for every age group. Classes start at 10AM every Sunday and Visitors are not only welcome, but desired. Our classes afford a great place to connect with a small group in an effort to explore God's Word while sharing with those of similar age and interest. Come see what all the excitement is about!

 

You can find a place for you and your children to be enriched through Adult, Youth, and Children's Bible Studies. These focused study groups afford wonderful opportunities for personal development.

 

God-honoring, and God focused worship is something we strive for. Our church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in our choir. Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

 

Big Lake Baptist Church is thrilled to be part of the spreading God’s Kingdom around the world. We are 

active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. As a participating member of the Cooperative Program of SBC Churches, we support more than 5000 missionaries in both foreign countries and here at home across North America. In addition, we have mission teams sent directly from Big Lake Baptist that minister here at home in Alaska. BLBC has sent members to Ft. Yukon, Mentasta, Tok, Tetlin, Tyonek, and Togiak as well as discipleship material to Toksook Bay. Our pastor and other members are involved in the prison ministry at Goose Creek Correctional Facility in Point Mackenzie. We are always on the look out for other mission opportunities.

 

Our Church boast one of the most comprehensive Christian Library's in the Valley. Two separate rooms are stocked full with thousands of titles from well known Christian authors in both a Fiction and Non-Fiction.

 

Our food pantry is a direct touch ministry. It makes contact with people in need by providing short term urgent assistance to those who might not otherwise eat. It's regularly stocked with easy to prepare items that don't require extensive kitchen facilities and also contains limited personal toiletries. Please contact the church to schedule an appointment to pick up a food box.

 

Ever wonder what to do with those left over swatches of material. Here at BLBC, we put them to good use making quilts for those in need. Our quilting ministry is a unique manner in which we not only share our time and talents - but render the warmth of God's Love!

 

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Big Lake Baptist Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the evening service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Church. The usher team at Big Lake Baptist Church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men whose ministry is integral to church life.
